• Has hither-to been used to focus conjunctive forward state-space search planners

  • UNPOP (McDermott, 1996)
  • HSP (Geffner & Bonet, 1997)

• Can be used in conjunction with any planner

  • UCPOP can use HSP heuristic as part of an open-condition ordering heuristic
  • Graphplan can use HSP heuristic as part of a variable ordering heuristic [Kambhampati, 99]
