heads up on final..

Like I said in the class, I plan to mail out the final by tomorrow
late afternoon (I am still recovering from a deadline I had to deal
with yesterday, and still haven't thought up enough questions that are
worthy of being posed to you). It looks like you will have four days
to do the final--I will need the final back by Tuesday evening. (I
have to give the grades back by Thursday evening).

I should be in my office most of tomorrw--9 to 3 at least, if  anyone
has any pre-exam questions. Remember that I cannot answer questions on
exam-specific topics once the final is given out.

Also, just you everyone understands, the final is going to be
*strictly individual effort*. You will be required to make a written
declaration to this effect in the final.

ps: As for take-home due date extensions--Here is the procedure I will
use:

You may be eligible for an extension:
  1. If you have have two or more other exams between friday and
       tuesday evening
  or 

  2. You attended most of the classes and you either have
     at least one other exam or a compelling personal reason for requesting
     extension. 

In either case, you will have to specifically send me a mail asking
for an extension (you can do this after the exam is given out).
