Sorry for the delay in responding to this.. my machine as well as the
clas mailing list are finally up...
Regading your question--there is no specific name for the kind of
problems where the goal may change based on the situation. This is basically
a kind of more expressive goal problem--where based on the state of
the agent, the goal may change.

Preetha.Appan> Sir,
Preetha.Appan>
Preetha.Appan> I have this doubt that I was wondering about, may be a
Preetha.Appan> bit trivial,
Preetha.Appan>
Preetha.Appan> what if a planning agent in a dyanamic environment,
Preetha.Appan> encounteres a circumstance of change in the environment
Preetha.Appan> due to which it has to change its definition of the
Preetha.Appan> goal state itself
Preetha.Appan>
Preetha.Appan> I thought of it when I thought of a real time problem,
Preetha.Appan> like for instance a robot has been sent on a mission of
Preetha.Appan> sea exploration and it senses that due to technical
Preetha.Appan> malfunction/sea storms , the ship is going to sink, so
Preetha.Appan> its goal would change from collection of data , to
Preetha.Appan> reaching the nearest shore intact so that it can
Preetha.Appan> contact the base station,
Preetha.Appan>
Preetha.Appan>
Preetha.Appan> my question is that is there a classification for such
Preetha.Appan> cases like "dynamic goal " planning problems, or is it
Preetha.Appan> another special case of the planning problems
Preetha.Appan>
Preetha.Appan> sincerely
