[APOLOGIES IF YOU RECEIVE MULTIPLE COPIES]

Domain independent planning is an area of intense research interest,
encompassing a wide range of techniques and approaches, and
increasingly applied in different areas.

This school brings together international subject experts. It is aimed
at PhD students and young researchers in the field, as well as at
industrial participants. The school will provide an introduction to the
broad range of current planning approaches, will present applications
of planning in several areas, and will provide a lively forum for
attendees to discuss their research lines. Previous Summer Schools on
AI Planning have been held in 2000, 2002 and 2003 and have been a great
success.

The school is to be held in the weekend immediately before the
International Conference on Automated Planning and Scheduling
(ICAPS'06), located in the beautiful Lake District of North-West
England. Participation in both the conference and the school is highly
encouraged.

The Summer School Program features a range of theoretical and practical
seminars covering the various application areas of AI Planning and
Scheduling. Courses are taught by renowned experts (both researchers
and practitioners) in these respective fields.
