Qn. Re: Interpreting Planning problems in terms of Algebras

[[Please respond to venkatk_k@yahoo.com ]]

I am a research student in IIT Delhi interested in
Theoretical foundations for planning to study the
properties. I am thinking to develop theory using
algebras. I am unable to find any reference related to
that.

By this I am requesting you to know about the status of such work.
Whether there is any work has been done in this direction? If so, can
you please provide any references? Please respond for the same I
would look forward for you reply.

Thanking you

With regards

[[More elaborate background....

I wish to interpret planning problems in terms of
algebras (as general structures). Using that I want to
study the properties. For example, semantics of
programs are given in terms of algebras viz. universal
algebras; Communication process is interpreted in
terms of Process Algebras, etc. In the similar

fashion I wish to study the properties of planning
problems using universal algebras.

In this context, except the following mentioned paper
I did not get any reference in this direction.
“On the Foundations of Classical Planning: Some
Algebraic and Topological Structures” by Eric Jacopin.

In that the author is talking using algebraic geometry. I do not know
whether the author did some more upon that or not. My tools are
different comparatively, but interested in such type of things.

Other things: Point Algebra, and Interval Algebras
have been used in this area. But my direction (as
mentioned above) is different.

Now the request is: whether I can find any references
to work in this direction? If possible, I request you
to provide some such.
