Student Scholarships for Attending AIPS-2002 [Appln. DEADLINE: Nov 23rd]
NASA Ames Research Center and the Research Institute for Advanced
Computer Science (RIACS) at NASA Ames, invite applications for student
scholarships to attend AIPS 2002 (http://www.laas.fr/aips). The award
will cover up to US$2500.00 in expenses towards attending the conference
in Toulouse, France. Covered expenses may include the conference
registration, cost of airline tickets, lodging, other travel expenses,
and subsistence as per US Government rules and regulations listed at
http://policyworks.gov/org/main/mt/homepage/mtt/perdiem/travel.shtml
It is expected that ten scholarships will be awarded subject to
availability of funds.
Who can apply:
-------------
- Full-time US nationals or permanent residents at accredited US
universities preferably in graduate programs.
- Post-Doctoral researchers at US universities and non-profit research
institutions.
- Applicants must be working towards a program in Artificial
Intelligence preferably in Planning and Scheduling. Post-Doctoral
candidates must be affiliated with their institutions for less than 2
years.
Documentation:

- A curriculum-vitae
- 2 letters of recommendation from academic supervisors familiar with
the applicant's work and progress in the program
- A letter on departmental letterhead stating that the applicant is a
full-time student and a US national/permanent resident
- Recent relevant publications
- A cover letter indicating why the applicant would like to attend the
conference.
The review board will give preference to students with publications at
AIPS02 and those who hold exceptional promise in the field. Women and
minorities are especially encouraged to apply. All materials must be
