The International Conference on AI Planning & Scheduling (AIPS) is a well
established scientific meeting for the presentation of new results in the
growing field of planning and scheduling. The 6th AIPS will take place in
the spring of 2002 in Toulouse, a major academic city in the south of
France. The format of the conference will be along a 3 days, single track,
technical program, highlighted by 3 invited talks. This technical program
will be preceded by 2 days of workshops and tutorials and by the 3rd edition
of AIPS planning and scheduling competition. AIPS'02 will be co-located with
several events, among which mainly :
- The 2nd International Conference on Knowledge Systems for Coalition
Opertions KSCO'02, April 23 - 24, 2002
- The 8th International Conference on Principles of Knowledge Representation
and Reasoning KR'02, April 22 - 25, 2002
- The 8th International Workshop on Non- Monotonic Reasoning NMR'02, April
19 - 21, 2002
Original papers are welcome in all areas of planning and scheduling
research. Of particular interest will be papers that address real-world
problems, bridge the gap between theory and practice, and those that
effectively combine planning and scheduling with other areas of Computer
Science. Contributions extending the state of the art and the rational
foundations for critical issues such as Interactive or Mixed-Initiative
Planning, Dynamic planning, and Uncertainty or Incompleteness in Planning
will be particularly encouraged. Topics of interest include:
_ Planning algorithms
_ Planning and reasoning about action and change
_ Planning and learning
_ Planning and temporal reasoning
_ Planning under uncertainty
_ Decision-theoretic planning
_ Scheduling algorithms
_ Constraint management approaches to planning and scheduling
_ Resource management
_ Mixed-initiative planning
_ Plan and schedule visualization
_ Multi-agent planning
_ Plan execution, monitoring and replanning
_ Agent architectures for planning and control
_ Active perception and sensor-based planning
_ Reactive systems
_ Applications and domain-specific techniques
All accepted papers will appear in full format (no short or "poster" papers)
in the preprints and in AIPS'02 proceedings, published after the conference
as a book. All papers must be formally presented at the conference, through
oral presentations, and eventually through demonstrations or posters. Papers
must not exceed ten (10) pages. They should include a separate title page
containing the paper's title, name, full address, email address, and
telephone numbers for all authors, keywords, and a 100-200 word abstract.
