Folks
Attached please find the current gradebook, with a calculation of the current cumulative using a set of tentative weights.
Projects/HW: 40% (currently put 15 for MDP HW; 10 for Reinforcement learning; still to come 10% for Belief Space and 10% for LDA)
Participation: 20% (three mandatory reviews count for 10%, 5% for forum posts; still to come 5% for interactive review)
Exams: 40% (20% for test 1; and still to come 20% for test 2).
There is a column called total which is out of 65% points. There is a column next to it called "extra credit" which separately shows any extra credit points you got
(currently this includes RL project optional part and cushing talk summary).
The next two columns--percentage and relative percentage--are computed only in terms of the total (not taking extra credit into account).
Note that these are tentative. I will have to talk to Tuan and Yuheng to make sure that the project weights are reflective of the work involved in them. I may also decide to
make the relative weight for projects be higher compared to the exams.
I am sending this mostly to give you a rough understanding of where you are.
I will entertain suggestions for any reasonable alternative weighting schemes. In the spirit of Bayes, I am even willing to consider multiple weighting schemes and take the max.
The most important thing you should do right now is to make sure that all your points are entered correctly.
cheers
Rao
PS: Reminding you once again that the current weighting used is tentative and that tweaks will likely happen before the final cumulatives
