Current cumulatives

Dear all:
  Here are the current cumulatives for the class (only those who are
enrolled). In looking at these, please note several points.

The grades are posted by your "posting id" (which is different
from your student id--which in turn is probably different from your soc
sec and all of which are likely different from your name).

First, the predictive accuracy of your current standing on the final
standing is not unlike the 
predictive accuracy of Kerry vs. Bush opinion poll taken in summer 2004.

For now, I used  5pts each for the two homeworks, 12 pts for the
first project, and 20 pts for the first exam
(which means you did work worth 42 points till now). 

Note that (1) I expect to reduce the project 1 weighting further w.r.t.
projects 2 and 3.
(2) the default weighting I used here is 20pts for homework 40 for
projects and 40 for exams. 
However, athe the end of the semester I normally compute multiple totals
with different relative weightings for 
projects, homeworks and exams and take the maximum out of them. This is
so that you get a chance to show your
excellence in one of multiple ways.

anonymous email about any concerns you have. 

If the class were to have ended today, I would probably not have been
compelled to give any grade below B- 

The Blue bands correspond to undergraduate students (who, as I said will
eventually be separated from Grads before letter grades are given).

ps: Note that the extra points you earned using at-home exam are kept
separate from the cumulative. As explained, they are points in the
bank
