Installing Allegro commonlisp (Student version) on your m/c
(This was sent once in summer. Being re-sent for people who registered
recently).
[You are getting this mail because as you are apparently registered
for CSE471/598 in fall]
More than one student-to-be has asked how they could isntall lisp and
play with it. Clearly the AZ heatwave is having some rather alarming
consequences.
Anyways, you can download lisp from
http://rakaposhi.eas.asu.edu/allegro-windows-lisp-only.zip (120mb)
or
http://rakaposhi.eas.asu.edu/allegro-windows-lisp-and-doc.zip (220mb)
The first is just lisp installation, and the second is the full CD
which contains tons of documentation.
unzip, store it somewhere, and run setup in the directory.
Select Student version of ACL (with IDE, if you want a nice windowing
environment).
Give the password:
yh87s723755
It should install.
Get cracking on it... may be we can have the final before the semester
even starts..
