Regarding LSI task, retaining 30 dimensions should be fine. But since you are expected to write a report anyway,

it would be a good idea to experiment with varying number of dimensions and see how the results change for each query.

In doing LSI, how many dimensions should we retain? Or, what is the maximum percentage of variance loss tolerable? Thanks.
