**Important announcements re: next class, exam, homework 2 solutions etc**

---The solutions for homework 2 are on line (I also provided a question on 
LSI and its answer from last years midterm--this way you have the entire 
sample midterm in front of you) [We will try to return the graded HW2 
sheets by next monday--but no guarantees)

--**The midterm exam will be in class on Wednesday 23rd October.
          --In class, Open book/brain; but closed internet/laptop. Simple 
calculators (not those that give you eigen vectors) allowed.
         --Includes everything done until the end of this week.


===You are encouraged to ask me clarification questions in the next two 
classes as well as office hours.
       There will not be any separate time devoted to "review" in the 
class (although I can hold an extra meeting this friday or next tuesday 
afternoon to go over topics that people want me to go over).


===Next class I will continue, and hopefully conclude, the discussion on 
Clustering. (The "discussion" on gloabal clustering paper will not happen 
next class--contrary to what I wrote on the board at the beginning of this 
class)
